Mormugao civic body passes resolution to reconstruct gutter

VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council held a meeting on Tuesday and a resolution was passed to reconstruct the gutter, which was dug up to lay gas pipelines, at its original place while changing the location of the gas pipeline at the gas company’s cost.

Behind the municipal building, there was free space near the footpath, which was used as a parking space by two-wheeler riders.

It may be recalled that the municipality, instead of repairing the gutter adjoining this footpath, had built a new one by encroaching upon the road. It had received backlash for the same as this had shortened the width of the road. More details regarding this came to light only when Councillors Frederick Henicks and Yatin Kamurlekar raised the question during the meeting.

Regarding suspended clerk Milton, the municipal council made it clear that since he was suspended by the Directorate of Municipal Administration, the decision to file a complaint against him will be taken only after the conclusion of his departmental inquiry.
