In a disturbing incident from Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman has filed a criminal complaint against her own son after he allegedly raped his cousin, police officials said.
According to the police, the incident took place in a village where the survivor had been residing with her paternal aunt since childhood following the death of her mother. The accused is alleged to have coerced the girl into a physical relationship under false pretences over a period of time.

The matter came to light only after the girl realised she was pregnant and confided in her aunt, prompting the family to take action. In a significant development, the accused’s mother herself approached the authorities and lodged a complaint against her son.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the accused, who is currently absconding. Authorities stated that further investigation is underway to establish all aspects of the case.
