VASCO: Ganesh Nadar, an under trial who was lodged in cell number 13 at Sada Sub Jail, in Mormugao escaped from Mapusa court premises on Monday. He was in the custody of the escort cell of Goa Police.
According to information, Nadar who was taken to Mapusa court by the escort police along with other undertrial inmates managed to escape from the court premises. He was charge sheeted by Mapusa police in a theft case reported under Mapusa police jurisdiction and was facing trial at Mapusa court. “We only have information that he escaped from the court premises. As he is required in several serious crimes, including a murder case at Karnataka, we first informed the concerned police stations and even the court about his escape. We also informed police stations in Karnataka where he is charged with several serious offenses including murder and was facing trial for the same “a jail official at Sada sub jail who did not wish to be named said..
Sources further said that Nadar is reportedly a habitual offender and is required for over 10 different cases in Goa and Karnataka.
