PANJIM: To promote serious learning of music among deserving students, MCPL India Pvt Ltd has instituted the ‘Matildes and Tome Menezes Music Scholarship’.
The annual scholarship which amounts to a total of Rs 1 lakh will be disbursed through the Britto’s Old Boys’ Association, Mapusa.
A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed in 2012 between the two parties. According to a press note issued here, from the date of its announcement on the notice board of St Britto High School, Mapusa, there has been an enthusiastic response. Headmaster, Fr Cedric Fernandes SJ, facilitated the announcement and receipt of application forms. Some of the deserving candidates have been short listed.
The names of the selected candidates will be announced after being confirmed by Britto’s OBA, the alumni association of St Britto High School. The disbursement of the scholarship will be done as soon as the school reopens in June 2013.
