PANJIM: The Azad Jamatul Muslimeen Welfare Trust has petitioned the Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) to permit the burial of bodies of Muslims from Merces, Bambolim and Curca at the St Inez kabrastan.
In a petition to GHRC, Trust President Sayed Manzoor Kadri has accused the Commissioner of Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) of being in contempt of the earlier proceedings and directions of the GHRC in April this year.
Kadri has prayed that GHRC direct the government to allow burial of the dead from Merces, Bambolim and Curca of Muslim communities till the government or the local authority provide piece of land for the same.
