MAPUSA: Nodal Officer Dr Maitreyee Goshal on Saturday informed that around 100 healthcare beneficiaries would be administered the COVID-19 vaccine daily.

Speaking during the COVID vaccination drive at the North Goa District Hospital Mapusa, Dr Goshal said there are in all 430 healthcare beneficiaries from North Goa District Hospital. However, the number may change since the list is getting uploaded with new entrants, contract workers and retired staff.

Medical Superintendent Dr Mohandas Pednekar and the medical staff were present.

“During this process if any beneficiary is doubtful then the team is ready to guide them. Also if any beneficiary does not want to receive the vaccine, then there is provision where they can refuse it. Once the entry is made in the App, the vaccine status will get updated. We are not expecting anything wrong to happen. It’s a safe vaccine,” Dr Goshal informed.

“The second dose will be administered after 28 days (on February 13). The process which was taken up during the dry run will be followed. First, the photo ID of the person is checked along with SMS having the name, time and date of the vaccine followed by two officers, who will authenticate the info in the software whether it is the same person whom the SMS is sent and the third officer is the nurse/vaccinator who will administer the vaccine,” Dr Pednekar informed.
