Naming me as CM nominee would have given me a boost in Mandrem: Parsekar

Keeping the option open gives benefit to others, which is good, says CM; maintains that he doesn’t actually need any further boost

Speaking to Herald
ARAMBOL: Reacting to the decision of the BJP not to project him as the BJP’s Chief Ministerial nominee – leaving it open to MLAs – for the first time Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told Herald, that it would have given him a personal boost in his own constituency but added quickly that he actually does not need a boost.
In a long conversation with Herald and HCN (The interview will be published and telecast soon) at his ancestral home in Arambol,  he said “Yes, naming me (as CM nominee) would  have given a boost to me personally in my constituency. There may be a little fragmented setback by that statement (by the party that the next CM choice was open and MLAs would give suggestions once the BJP was ready to form the government) to me alone in one constituency but I feel keeping that option open gives benefit to others also. One out of 40 does not matter if it benefits others.
Anyway I do not have a problem in my constituency. Admitting that the issue has been discussed among his people, he said. “A large number of people questioned me. But my reaction to that is I am a disciplined soldier of the party”.
