Narvekar dares Dr Salkar

PANJIM, DEC 27
Two days after a case of forgery, manipulation and cheating was registered against Dayanand Narvekar and four others including wife Sushma and son Ganeshraj, the Goa Cricket Association president spewed venom and dared Dr Shekar Salkar to prove the charges.
Narvekar, addressing the media at GCA stadium Alto Porvorim on Monday, stated that he would place the facts of the case, wherein Dr Salkar alleged that there were different birth certificates with different birth dates of his son and that they were registered very late, before the affiliated clubs at the special general body meeting to be called next month. “I will place my resignation with the clubs, who will decide to accept or reject it,” Narvekar claimed.
“I have registered the birth late, and as such I have followed the procedure by filing an affidavit, which is normally done in such cases. I have done no wrong. There could be over 30,000 such late registration cases in Goa. I am innocent and the poor boy is unnecessarily being dragged into the allegation. It amounts to character assassination. My wife, who has given another birth date of my son, will explain it to the investigation officers later on,” Narvekar stressed. “Calling it a conspiracy is totally uncalled for. Dr Salkar is being vindictive and I am warning against proceeding as conspiracy,” stressed Narvekar.
