PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the students, who failed to answer the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) due to connectivity issues can register for next test scheduled on September 12.

For the very first time, the examination was held online, with students also given a choice to answer from home. In a tweet, Sawant said that NATA exam, for which 98 Goan students had registered, was conducted successfully at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda and Mice Academy, Margao.
Sawant said the students who had software or connectivity issue during the examination, can register themselves before September 4 for another test, which will be held on September 12. “Glad that the NATA exams were conducted successfully today in #Goa. Very few students who had software/connectivity issues can register themselves on nata.in before September 4, for another test, which is to be held on September 12,” the Chief Minister tweeted.
Following intervention by State government and Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, the National Council for Architecture agreed to have centre in Goa for local students.
The students were allotted the centres such as Bengaluru, Belgavi, Kolhapur, Hubli, Pune, and Mumbai amongst others.
In a press statement issued, Council member of Council of Architecture Chandan Parab said that total 52 students appeared for exams at Don Bosco College while another 47 at Mice center.
He said that this is the first time that the complete test was online and students also had an option of answering from home due to pandemic.
“The number of students who appeared from home is not known as of now,” he said. The Exam has two parts, the Part I was of 45 minutes for General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning and Part II was of 72 minutes for cognitive skill test.
Parab informed that there was a broadband speed issue at Mice academy and 12 students complained of the images being displayed slowly and questions being skipped due to connectivity issue. “However there was no such issue at the Don Bosco centre where the test went smoothly,” he said.
Further five students could not log in on the first attempt but managed to do so after 45 minutes where they answered part II first and part I later on.
“Due to COVID issues and broadband connectivity issues the Council of Architecture has kept an option to answer another test for students who could not answer this test or who had software issues during the first test and want to answer again. These students can register themselves for another test to be held on September 12 on www.nata.in,” he informed.
The test was conducted following COVID norms with sanitising of hands and temperature check at the entrance and seating arrangements at a distance. There was no applicant with high temperature or fever.
