VASCO: The B Court of Judicial Magistrate of First Class Vasco has extended the police remand of Sameer Sardana, who was arrested by Vasco railway Police over suspected terror links by four days. His remand of seven days ended on Monday. Although the police had demanded seven days extension in remand of Sardana citing national security reasons, Vasco JMFC Shabnam Shaikh extended the police remand of Sardana by only four days, after hearing the defence council as well as the Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Devendra Korgaonkar.
Sardana was arrested over suspected terror links from the Vasco police station last Monday after which the Goa Police’s Anti Terror Squad (ATS), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) interrogated Sardana.
All agencies attempted to figure if Sardana was affiliated to any terrorist outfit. However, nothing has emerged so far to conclude that he has affiliations with any terror outfits.
