Navelim SC in last eight

MARGAO: Navelim Sporting Club coasted an easy 3-1 win over Chandor Club to enter the quarter-finals of all-Goa Bro Eulalio Vas memorial inter-village football tournament, organized by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Wednesday. Navelim led 1-0 at half time.

Navelim Sporting Club prevailed over Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 4-2 via tie-breaker to sail into the quarter-finals of 24th Fraxier Trophy inter-village football tournament, organised by Young Strikers, Benaulim, at Dando ground, Benaulim on Saturday. 
Navelim led 1-0 at lemon break.
Striker Alvito Colaco put Navelim into the lead in the 13th minute off a well-measured pass from Dominic Carvalho.
Changing over, the teams started with renewed vigour and created many openings but without success.
Navelim came close in increasing their tally but their forwards faltered after reaching the rival danger zone.
With time running out, Don Bosco made a last ditch effort and succeeded in restoring parity at the fag end when Chris Fernandes found the net.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Jose Colaco, Vincent Colaco and Caetano Pereira were on target for Navelim while Sanjay Borkar was the lone scorer for Don Bosco.
