TIVIM: Condemning the ‘Run for Unity’ organised by BJP party to mark the 63rd death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on December 15, the NCP on Thursday also alleged that the BJP wanted the schools to participate in the programme.
“Photos of Narendra Modi and Manohar Parrikar figure on pamphlets distributed all over, besides banners have also been put up everywhere. They have issued a circular to all schools to participate in the programme. This is absolutely condemnable by a political party,” stated NCP spokesperson Trajan D’Mello.
“Why is the BJP getting school children involved in this political game,” asked D’Mello. Meanwhile, Tivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar defended the programme and said that the ‘Run for Unity’ is organised purely to remember the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patil.
