PANJIM: The Nationalist Congress Party has demanded sacking of Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar for his alleged unaccounted wealth and alleged that he has been funded by the organisers of electronic dance music festivals. The NCP at a press conference on Thursday demanded that the minister be investigated immediately.
“An undervalued property consisting of a Pent-house of which the sale deed was registered on March 18, 2014 … there is a possibility these funds are kickbacks from “Sunburn” – Vagator and “Super Sonic” music festival Candolim,” NCP spokesman Trajano D’Mello alleged.
D’Mello pointed out two sale deeds in the name of Vastukal Builders & Developers which has Mumbai-based Anand Shetye and Parulekar as partners. He said the sale deed for both the plots was registered in the office of Civil Registrar and Sub-Registrar at Mapusa on March 27, 2014.
“Parulekar represented by his wife Medha Parulekar by virtue of Power of Attorney has purchased a plot of 494 sq mtrs for Rs 14.82 lakh in Guirim village…The present market value fixed by the government for the purpose of Stamp Duty is Rs 24.70 lakh. Another plot of 369 sq mtrs, was purchased at Rs 11.07 lakh but for the Stamp Duty actually cost Rs 18.45 lakh,” he added.
Commenting on Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s assurance to review the Western Ghats reports if the BJP forms government at Centre, D’Mello called him a “Master Liar.”
“It is an attempt to fool the people of the mining belt. He has been the cause of crushing the interest of the poor people who were depending on mining business. It is also an attempt to pressurise and extract money from the mining owners who are not going to (be) fool(ed) by the master liar,” he alleged. The NCP apprehends the BJP may impose further taxes on the mining industry.
