PONDA: Ponda Deputy Collector, Johnson Fernandes has advocated the need for combined efforts from residents, builders and the medical sector to eradicate water-borne disease like malaria.
Fernandes was speaking during the advocacy programme on water-borne diseases, especially malaria, organised by the Community Health Centre (CHC) Ponda at Ponda Sub-district Hospital on Friday.
The programme was organised for panchayat members including builders, scrap dealers, etc. About 50 representatives participated in the programme.
“To eradicate malaria, we require cooperation from residents, builders and above all, the role of the medical sector is pivotal. It’s not a one-man army job, but jointly it will become easier to curtail the malaria disease,” said Fernandes.
