New Goa Airport in Mopa takes off on 5 Jan with these flights

Travellers flying to Goa will now have a new gateway into the state. Goa is set to launch its second international airport, this time in North Goa. The New Goa Airport, as it is being called at the moment, will be inaugurated in Mopa near Panjim on 11 December – Sunday. Flights will start on 5 January 2023.

GMR, which operates airports in Delhi and Hyderabad, is also running the show at New Goa Airport in Mopa. IndiGo and GO FIRST are the first carriers off the blocks and have announced flights to eight Indian cities from GOX, which is the new airport’s IATA code. IndiGo is going all-in with 168 flights a week to and from the New Goa Airport, making it the carrier’s largest station launch. These will connect Mopa with eight major cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Chennai. The flights between Mopa and Chennai will operate daily, except on Wednesdays. Those between Mopa and Ahmedabad will operate daily, except on Sundays. The first flight from Mopa to Pune (one hour and five minutes long) is set to take off on 5 January at 11:20 pm.
