PANJIM: The 15 recently promoted police inspectors (PI) were on Friday given new postings at various police stations with PI Krishna Sinari being given the charge of Old Goa police station, replacing controversial PI Devendra Gad, who was shunted to Goa Reserve Police, Altinho, in the wake of controversy surrounding the double murder reported at Merces.
Navlesh Dessai has been transferred to traffic Cell in Dabolim, while Pravin Gawas, Narayan Chimulkar, Sudiksha Naik and Virendra Veluskar have been posted at CID/Crime Branch.
PI Sanjay Dalvi has been transferred to Traffic Cell Curchorem, Paresh Naik has been posted at anti-corruption branch of Vigilance department, Paresh Navelkar has been assigned to CID Security, Rajesh Job to Cyber Cell Panjim, Anushka Pai Bir to Petition Cell Panjim, Prajyot Fadte to Anti-terrorist Squad, Ravindara Dessai to District Investigation Unit, South Goa and Baburao Parab to District Investigation Unit, North Goa. The posting of Deepak Pednekar has been retained as PI at Police Training School, Valpoi.
PI Tony Fernandes who was Superintendent of Police (security/ immigration) and who was due for retirement this month has been given an extension. Fernandes has been given an extension of six months till December 31, according to an order issued by Under Secretary (Personnel). The above 15 PIs were recently promoted.
