Earlier, a family from Bogmalo filed a petition before the NGT alleging that eight parties in the village had either built permanent structures (new structures after 2006) to expand the operational area under a ‘no development zone’ (in violation of CRZ notification), or were operating their business without any permission from Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority. The complainant also pleaded for urgent interim relief, besides the direction to stop the illegal activities taking place in the structures as well as demolition of the latter.
Following the petition, NGT issued notices to the parties and asked them or their authorized legal representative to remain present for the hearing as well as interim relief on July 22 in Pune. On Wednesday, the defendants submitted their documents before the NGT.
