Nigerian arrested

Calangute Police late Sunday night arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian national in connection with the accident case.
It may be recalled that Savio Dias (29) from Canca-Tivim died in a collision between two vehicles at Porba-Vaddo, Calangute, on Saturday.
According to Calangute Police, the accident occurred at about 2.30 am when Dias was returning home from work on his bullet. On reaching Porba Vaddo, Nigerian Cristian Chibuzo, who was riding a Honda Activa rammed into Dias, killing him on the spot. The Nigerian national fled from the site and was absconding.
Calangute Police led by PSI Gaurish Parab traced the Nigerian, who got himself admitted at Vrundavan Hospital, Mapusa, on false injuries.
Calangute Police later shifted the Nigerian to GMC Hospital, where he was operated upon for accidental injuries and discharged from the hospital.
Chibuzo was accordingly arrested by Calangute Police on Sunday at 9.30 pm and was produced before JMFC Mapusa and taken into 14 days remand. PSI Gaurish Parab is investigating .
