PANJIM: The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) sleuths on Tuesday arrested a Nigerian for alleged drug peddling in Arambol. The 40-year-old is identified as Chibuzu Ifaniy Chukwu. He is an under-trial in another case; he was caught red-handed with illegal possession of around 13.718 grams of suspected MDMA and 6.899 grams of cocaine all worth over Rs 2.1 lakhs in the international market.
The seized contraband found concealed in his scooter and meant for illegal sale to tourists of Goa in the ongoing tourist season, ANC officer said.
“On interrogation, he revealed that he is staying in Arambol and was in narcotics business. He was supplying the narcotics to tourists,” the officer said.
The alleged drug peddler has been living in Goa since 2014 as an under trial. He is previously involved in another drug related offence registered under Section 21(b) and 20 (b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act for possession of Ganja and Cocaine. The case is presently under trial.
