CALANGUTE: Calangute police arrested nine persons on Tuesday for drinking alcohol and creating nuisance at various public areas in Calangute area.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi said that while patrolling, police found nine persons drinking alcohol and creating nuisance at various public areas like footpath, pay parking and the beach.
Accordingly, they were detained and brought to the police station and placed under arrest for drinking and creating nuisance in public area thereby troubling other tourists and disturbing peace.
The police arrested three persons from the footpath, four from the beach and two from pay parking area.
The arrested ones are Sandip Patil (34) and Narayan Patil (35) both native of Maharashtra; Thirupati Guddam (40), Kapil Anjanelu (35), Satish Babu (32) all three natives of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and Sagar Bentur (23), Raghavendra Megharaj (25), Rudresh Mahesh (30) and Rajesh Nagarajappa (28) all five from Karnataka.
