They stated that the slabs were weakened and claimed the load-bearing capacity had been affected.
The culvert connects Kodar, Khandepar to Bethora and Shiroda.
Many villagers prefer the culvert over the main road since it reduces their commute by 10 kilometres. Heavy vehicles also take advantage of it. The old age is apparent by the rusted slabs and exposed rods.
Bethora Sarpanch Poonam Samanth informed that the panchayat had taken note of the same and informed the local MLA Mahadev Naik. She added that the bridge’s protection wall had collapsed due to road accidents. PWD Engineers had also inspected the culvert earlier. Meanwhile, a proposal for a new culvert is under consideration.
