MARGAO: While firmly ruling out an alliance with the NCP in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, GPCC Chief John Fernandes said that the Congress would take a call on candidates for North and South Goa at the party meeting in Delhi on Wednesday.
“There’s no question of an alliance with NCP in the coming polls. An alliance with NCP does not make any sense when we given them the candidate and the manpower to contest the elections”, John told the media after the Lohia Maidan rally.
On the Congress candidate for South Goa, John said, “In South Goa, we have a sitting MP in Francisco Sardinha. But the party has to comply with certain formalities before announcing the candidate”, while indicating that the party will almost settle for the sitting MP.
