VASCO: The Murgao Hindu Samaj Committee has decided not to have any judges for this year’s Narakasur Vadh competition. The decision has been taken to curtail arguments and fights that occur after the competition results.
The Murgao Hindu Samaj Narakasur competition is the oldest in Goa with the Laxmi Pujan Utsav of the Samaj, which has been taking place for the last 63 years. Shekhar Khadapkar of the MHS Committee announced that the MHS Narkasur competition this time would not have judges. Instead the MHS has decided to have a video footage of the competition. The committee will sit with 20 panellists and review the footage to declare the winners and runners-up.
Shekhar said, “Every year there are arguments and fights after the results calling it “partial or unfair”.
Shekhar informed that Narayan Rajaram Bandekar, president of Murgao Hindu Sabha has sponsored cultural programme, which includes famed singers and artistes for the Diwali celebration in Vasco.
