No licence issued as yet to on land casino promoter, says CCP Mayor

PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji  (CCP) will issue a notice to remove the casino board awhich has been erected without obtaining permission, according to Mayor  Rohit Monserrate.

“As of now, they (casino promoters) haven’t applied for trade licence; if they fall within the license criteria then we have to grant the licence. We can’t deny it. The licence to operate on land casino has been given by Home Department, Monserrate clarified.

Reacting to the putting up of a board by the casino operator, Monserrate said he has asked the Corporation of the City of Panaji Commissioner to issue them a notice asking under what provisions they had had erected the board. The Commissioner will issued them a notice asking them to first remove the board.

However, the Corporation of the City of Panaji Mayor evaded the question of additional parking and whether it would cause traffic congestion at Patto.
