VASCO: Following suggestions and directions from Mormugao Deputy Collector Gaurish Sankhawalkar, Narkasur competition organisers in Vasco have decided to conclude the completion before 12 midnight, strictly. And anyone intending to get enrolled to participate in the competition after 9 pm will not be allowed.
The decision was taken in the joint meeting called by Deputy Collector and SDM Mormugao Gaurish Sankhawalkar and was attended by Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida besides other department officials concerned from Vasco.
“In order to avoid any confusion with regards to the restrictions of sound, other issues such as law and order situation, we have taken several decisions this year and the same will be strictly followed. Moreover this year Narkasur effigy competition will be held under CCTV vigil” said Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida.
President of Mormugao Hindu Samaj, Shekhar Khadapkar said that “As we have taken decision to conclude the completion strictly by 12 midnight, my Sincere appeal to the participants is that they should come early before 9 pm otherwise they will not be allowed to take part in the competition at Vasco”.
