No politics here: Kamat

Taken aback over the violence in his Moti Dongor stronghold, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has said he has told the police to crack down on anti-social elements spoiling the peace and tranquility atop the hillock.
When Herald pointed out to the chief minister that the attack was led by his close supporters, Kamat said the attack has no political connotations and attributed the violence to internal squabbles amongst the groups inhabiting the area.
“This violence has no connection with politics or is orchestrated by my supporters”, the chief minister claimed.
But, when it was pointed out that Bashir happens to be his close supporter, the chief minister shot back saying that the victim Maqbool is also his close supporter in the area.
“The police will take tough action against the assailants. I have also told the police to come down heavily on anti-social elements resorting to violence”, Kamat said.
When it was further pointed out that Moti Dongor has been witnessing violence since the municipal polls, Kamat reiterated that the tension is not related to elections or politics. In fact, Kamat said he has told all the groups to remain united in their own interest.
