PANJIM: While assuring to resolve the Sonsodo dump issue, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant urged the Opposition that it should not be politicised.
“I want to assert one thing, there should be no politics on garbage… Margao municipal corporation should take a responsibility. Everytime when we clear the garbage from the dump site, the waste would be brought back (by the MMC),” CM told the House while thr Opposition raised concern over unending problem around the waate site.

Congress MLA digambar kamat appealed the CM to hold the meeting of high powered committee which is already in force and “resolve the issue once for all.”
GFP MLA Vijai Sardesai pointed to that despite funds allocated to previous government to tackle the menace, matter remains unresolved. He also urged the government to come up with a solution without further delay.
CM while replying to the supplementary demands informed the House that segregation of waste has already begun at spots earmarked by the government. “According to the technical committee advise, we are ready to discuss the matter with waste management corporation and directorate of municipal administration for resolving it,” the cm further replied.
