No RTI relief for vigilance dept
PANJIM: The state government has rejected a move by the Vigilance Department seeking to get itself exempted from the purview of the Right to Information Act. The proposal had been "rejected outright with contempt" says the noting on the file. The department wanted to ensure that it did not come under the purview of the Act as it takes up investigations of offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act involving public corruption.
