No student will be left without admission, says CM

PANJIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, who holds the Education portfolio, said no student will be left without admission in higher secondary schools and colleges as the government is constantly monitoring the process.

He said the government is also not in favor of permitting additional institutes.
“I don’t want to increase the liability of the State. Though I am not here on a permanent basis, State needs to function properly,” he said.
“Whoever has not got admission, they will have to register their names in all three zones of Education Department. Nobody will be deprived of education,” Parsekar said on Monday. The chief minister was reacting to the demand by a few institutions to start additional classes.
Parsekar said additional divisions in higher secondary schools and colleges can be permitted, if there is a sufficient number of students.
“If need be, we will permit a new institution. I am monitoring the situation weekly and in the next three days the picture will be clear,” he said.
