Four panchas of Paddi-Barcem panchayat have moved a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Dattaram Gaonkar and Deputy Sarpanch Anujea Gaonkar.
According to reports, the signatories to the motion in the seven-member panchayat, Ganesh Govind Velip, Chandrika Shanker Velip, Vikas Molu Velip and Malu Thulo Velip have alleged that the sarpanch and his deputy did not take them into confidence while taking decisions on important matters and promoting illegal constructions.
It may be noted that the no-confidence motion has been moved against Sarpanch Dattaram Gaonkar, after he was elected sarpanch on June 17.
Dattaram Gaonkar was the third panch for having being elected as sarpanch of the village in the present tenure of the panchayat.
Malu Thulo Velip was the first sarpanch, who was voted out of office within one year, followed by Vikas Molu Deikar, who after serving for six months as per the understanding between panchas resigned, paving way for Dattaram Gaonkar.
