PANJIM: The North Goa Zilla Panchayat (ZP) members on Tuesday deliberated on various issues with regard to utilisation of 15th Finance Commission funds during its general body meeting held at the Secretariat, Porvorim.
The ZP members also sought provision in the system for emergency funds to undertake pre-monsoon works during the general body meeting chaired by North Goa ZP Adhyaksh Kartik Kundaikar, North Goa ZP Upadhyaksh Diksha Khanolkar, other ZP Members. Chief Executive Officer Gaurish Shankhwalkar was also present on the occasion.
The meeting also urged the government to grant more funds to the ZP and congratulated two South Goa ZP members Ulhas Tuenkar and Anton Vas for getting elected as MLAs. The meeting also congratulated all 20 MLAs from North Goa District.
Shankhwalkar, while addressing the gathering urged all the members for their co-operation for the smooth functioning of the system.
The meeting was followed by a farewell to outgoing Kartik Kundnekar, who has tendered his resignation as North Goa ZP Adhyaksh on April 11.
