MARGAO: Authorities have not incorporated suggestions made by villagers in the Coastal Zone Management Plan of Chandor-Cavorim village, said Francisco Coutinho on Tuesday, one of the persons, who had painstakingly revised the draft CZMP sent to the village in September last year.
“The plan now sent to the village panchayat asking for their comments is the same plan that was sent last year and the only difference is that the present plan is a bit neater and sharper,” he said.

Francisco pointed out that the villagers had objected to showing mangroves in fields of the village and had asserted that mangroves were available only on the river bank. However, the plan sent now repeats the mangroves in the fields.
As many fields have been lying fallow for years some mangroves have grown there but they are saplings and not actual trees, he said.
