Not to forget Margao Municipal council’s failed attempt to be online…

New on the list is a quick link that says Locate Collection Vehicle. The MMC staffers are clueless as to what this link does or what’s the purpose of this link or its services. Not a single MMC official is aware of this link. Supposedly, the plan was to have a live GPS system to show the movement of the garbage trucks. There’s a third party vendor paid for this service by the MMC. Sadly, the link only shows up the world map ideal for a school child to take a coloured printout for a geography class journal and nothing else. Here’s a scam in the making.
…And its fate with its councillor contacts
The Margao municipality is still struggling to put up details and contacts of its councillors and so bad is the situation that MMC felt embarrassed that Herald raised this issue and decided to display contacts of the four old councillors but a major chunk of 21 councillors details are still in abeyance. Seems like this council doesn’t like transparency.
Online tender scam?
And the last red herring on the website is the awful corrigendum of every online tender. The MMC has online tenders listed on its official website and each tender has a revised pricing through a corrigendum. This online scam is a worry, considering that MMC is struggling to have a better image.
