MAPUSA: The Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) in collaboration with Rotary Club of Mapusa has created an artificial pond near Dev Bodgeshwar Temple for immersing Ganesh idols.
The pond has the capacity for immersion of 700-800 idols.
“This will also help avoid crowding at other immersion points especially at Tar River. Immersion of idols will be done according to the time table given to each ward,” MMC Chairperson Ryan Braganza informed.
Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Temple Committee president Anand Bhaidkar, president of Rotary Club Mapusa, councillors and others were present at the function.
