NRI woman rescued from drowning at Colva beach

A 64-year old NRI from London, Pushap Soob was rescued by Dhristi beach management services at the Colva beach on Wednesday.
The woman along with her friend was swimming in a no swim zone around 500 meters right side of the Colva Tower. Suddenly, duty lifeguard Swapnil Farade observed that she was in distress and screaming for help.
Sources said that Lifeguard Shrikant Velip immediately informed the Colva Tower about the incident, while Swapnil reached near the drowning person with a rescue board.
Soob was placed over the board and safely brought on shore. The victim was comforted and handed over to her friend.
