NSUI alleges corruption in govt job recruitment

PANJIM: Alleging nepotism and corruption in recruitment for government jobs, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar said that its frontal organisation – National Students Union of India (NSUI) has filed a complaint to the Goa Lokayukta in this regard.

Speaking to reporters, Chodankar on Thursday alleged that recruitment process is compromises and jobs are sold to the unemployed youth. MLAs were accepting money for government jobs, he charged adding that this issue has serious implications under Articles 14, 15 and 16 of Constitution read with Prevention of Corruption Act.

Chdoankar said that NSUI State President Nausdhad Chaudhary has filed a complaint before the Goa Lokayukta after he came across serious allegation made by Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar in public at Avedem, Quepem, stating that MLAs are accepting money for jobs. He has enclosed the relevant footage with his complaint. 

The issue also impinges on the hopes and aspirations of thousands of youth who are applying for jobs in the government sector under the belief that they will get jobs on merit. There has been a sudden surge in advertisements these days by different government departments inviting applications for jobs which are in the category of Group C and D posts, he said.
