Ruckus over construction of compound

MARGAO: The Maina-Curtorim police have registered complaints and cross complaints under section 143, 147, 506, 341, 447 read with Section 149 of the IPC
According to the police, Samira Pereira Cardoso, in her complaint has accused Nuvem Panch Conceicao Colaco, his sister Pobrinha Colaco e Fernandes, brother Jose Colaco, Rexon Quadros, Sebastiao Quadros, Sucouro Dourado all from Goulloy, Nuvem, of physically assaulting, criminal trespass, wrongful restraint, unlawful assembly, criminal intimidation and causing injury with common intention.
They were all arrested and later released on bail.
On the other hand, the panch in his complaint has accused Samira and others for assaulting him, his sister Pobrinha, brother Jose and Rexon.
The tussle between the locals and Samira and others is said to be over construction of compound encircling open space opposite Vailankani chapel, Goulloy, and construction of a gate.
According to Conceicao, who is a ward panch, the compound wall constructed around the open space is without panchayat permission.
He stated that on Monday June 3 after being informed that the gate was being installed at the site, he approached and questioned Samira who he allegedly caught hold of his T-shirt and assaulted him.
His sister, brother and others who came to rescue of Conceicao were also assaulted, claimed the panch.
