Offence against missing woman’s husband, in-laws

MARGAO: Margao police on Wednesday evening registered an offence of harassment against the husband and in-laws of Vedeshri, who along with her three-year-old daughter Yashvi was reported missing on Tuesday.

Even as police registered the offence based on a complaint received from Vedeshri’s mother, Laxmi Yeshwant Gauns, the husband Yogesh Parab, a resident of Chandrawado-Fatorda, stated his 33-year old wife and minor daughter had left the house on July 15 at 2 pm and have failed to return back home. 
In her complaint, Laxmi Gauns had demanded that in the event of any untoward incident appropriate action be taken against her daughter’s father-in-law, mother-in-law and husband for domestic violence. Copy of the complaint has also been submitted to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Salcete and to Women and Child Protection Cell-Margao.
Gauns stated that on July 15 her son-in-law Yogesh phoned her at 9 pm informing that Vedeshri along with her granddaughter had left home at around 1.30 pm and failed to return till late evening. 
She alleged that her daughter was being harassed and tortured by her in-laws to give up her job of lab assistant at GMC, Bambolim, and 
stay home to look after 
her daughter.
