PANJIM: Francisco Custodio Oliveira won the bye-elections at Ambaulim panchayat polls for which counting was held on Monday.
Francisco won the seat by just one vote having polled 115 votes as against the 114 polled by the other candidate. Fatima Rocha had actually polled more votes but six votes were rejected as the ballot paper was folded wrongly by the voter.
and the votes had to be declared null and void.
The bye elections were held as the panch who was elected the Sarpanch Prakash Gaonkar had expired while in office.
