Following the recent healthcare review meeting chaired by Pramod Sawant, an on-site inspection was carried out at Chicalim Sub-District Hospital to expedite key decisions aimed at strengthening healthcare services.
The inspection was undertaken at the instance of Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, after the Chief Minister deputed Pranab Bhat, Joint Secretary (Finance), along with officials from the Directorate of Health Services Goa, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation, Public Works Department Goa and the Directorate of Panchayats Goa to ensure swift action without delays in file movement.
During the visit, the team assessed requirements for additional doctors, nurses, technicians and support staff. Plans to strengthen dialysis facilities, enhance bed capacity, improve dental services, upgrade operation theatre equipment and reinforce hospital infrastructure were also reviewed.
Authorities assured that visible improvements would be implemented within the next few weeks, along with measures for proper annual maintenance to sustain quality healthcare services.
The initiative is part of the state government’s broader effort to upgrade healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical care for residents of the region.
