PANJIM: A 48-year-old man, who demanded an injection after testing negative for COVID-19 has been arrested for allegedly molesting a doctor at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
The person is charged under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code following a complaint filed by the doctor.
“The man had undergone COVID-19 test and his report was negative. On Sunday, he went to the hospital ward to collect his report. He was informed that he was COVID negative despite which he demanded a nurse that he be given an injection,” a police source said quoting the complainant.
“He was asked to go to the casualty if he needed so. The man began abusing her after which the lady doctor then intervened. At this time, he pulled her and touched her inappropriately,” the source said.
A complaint was thereafter filed resulting in the arrest of the man. He has now applied for a bail.
