“As per a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the mother had delivered food to accused the previous day, and the next day, the victim was sent to collect the utensils from the accused, who was alone at his home at the time, and thus, he allegedly molested the victim. The victim returned home and the next day she told her mother about the incident.
The family did not have enough courage to report the matter to the police, and finally, with the advice and help of an NGO, the mother approached the police and filed a complaint against the accused,” said Vasco DySP Suchita Desai. Vasco police immediately arrested the accused and booked him under Sections 354 and 354-A of IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act. DySP Desai is monitoring the investigations.
