PANJIM: In a raid conducted near Bal Bhavan, Panjim on late Saturday evening, the Panjim police arrested Sunil Pawar, a native of Maharahstra, with 400 grams of ganja approximately worth Rs 50,000. Later, he was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), who remanded him police custody for four days.
According to the police, the raid was conducted on a tipoff. “We received information from sources and acting on the information, we arrested Sunil Pawar near Bal Bhavan on late Saturday evening. We recovered 400 grams on ganja worth Rs 50,000,” said Panjim PSI Arun Desai.
The accused is booked under Section 20 (ii)(b)(a) of the NDPS Act 1985.
