OLD GOA: One person was killed while four others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles near Shell Top hotel along the Santa Cruz highway on Saturday morning.
According to Old Goa police, an Hyundai i10 car (GA-03-4824) proceeding from Panjim to Vasco via Bambolim and a Tata Canter (GA-08-U-2478) proceeding towards Panjim, dashed against each other.
The impact was such that the i10 car was flung to a distance and the Tata Canter turned turtle. At this point, a Swift Desire car dashed against the Tata Canter.
The cleaner of the Canter, identified by police as P K Tate of Bicholim, died of injuries when he was being moved to the GMC hospital while the driver sustained injuries.
Two occupants of the i10 car and the driver of the Swift Desire were also injured in the accident.
Three of the injured persons are undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, while one injured was later shifted to a private hospital, stated the police. PSI Sagun Sawant and HC Julio Diniz are investigating the case together.
