One drowns in Advoi

A 30-year-old resident from Advoi-Sattari drowned in the Advoi River on Thursday afternoon.
According to Valpoi police, Sandeep Naik had left his house on Thursday at about 1.30 pm and went to the nearby river. However, locals say that Sandeep was last seen at about 3 pm, sitting alongside the river. When the body was seen floating in the river, Birondem panchayat Sarpanch Uday Singh informed the police, who rushed to the site and fished out the body.
