PANJIM: The Panjim police are investigating an accident that killed a motorcyclist after a car collided with the two-wheeler near Caranzalem petrol pump Wednesday morning.

The victim identified as Jeetendra Naik of Succor (Porvorim) succumbed enroute to the Goa Medical College while the pillion rider Tanaji Jadhav, a resident of St Cruz and native of Kolhapur sustained injuries.

According to the police, Kashinath Marathe, also a resident of St Cruz and native of Kolhapur allegedly rashly drove his car towards Dona Paula and banged into the Hero Honda motor cycle bearing registration number GA-01-Z-5870. He has been booked under sections 279 for rash driving, 337 – causing hurt by endangering life or public safety and 304-A for culpable homicide not amounting to murder of IPC.
