VALPOI: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Valpoi remanded one 23-year-old person from Pissurlem for allegedly assaulting his 19-year-old sister, at Pissurlem, to seven days police custody.
According to the police, the incident occurred last month at Pissurlem at the accused person’s home. The victim filed a police complaint against her elder brother for alleged harassment on July 7.
According to sources, the brother had seen his sister dating her boyfriend at his residence and later he threatened his sister’s boyfriend and told him to marry his sister and not to play around with her life. Further, both had arguments which ended in a scuffle. After this, the lovers held a long discussion between themselves. Later, her boyfriend told her to file a police complaint against her elder brother, who is already married and having a family.
A case has been registered under Sections 354 and 376 IPC at Valpoi Police Station.
