PANJIM: The online passport application in the State has dropped drastically to 10 per cent compared to previous years owing to current COVID pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions.
Goa regional passport officer Rohini Ashok Lad said, “We used to receive maximum 200 to 250 online passport applications everyday and it has now dipped to 18 to 20 passport applications daily.”
In April this year, the office received as many as 2162 applications and issued 2480 passports, both fresh and renewals.
For the current month up to May 11, the office received 215 applications and issued about 575 passports.
