MARGAO: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat was felicitated by his workers and well wishers for completing 25 years as a legislator and he vowed to continue working for the common man because of whom he entered politics and said it was for the people of Margao to decide when he should retire from politics.
Digambar was garlanded by three councillors namely Doris Texeira, Manoj Massurkar and Damodar Naik in the presence of many party workers. Digambar recalling that he entered politics only to serve the common man and said he has always kept this as his priority.
He thanked the people of Margao and his supporters who worked relentlessly to give the distinction of being Margao MLA for 25 years. “This is not an easy feat to achieve and I am really grateful to people of Margao for giving me this distinction,” he said.
Getting a little emotional Digambar said now is the time for him to introspect and see whether he has changed anything in Margao and whether he has made life better for the common man and said this introspection will decide the future course of action.
