Opposition MLAs propose Common Entrance Test (CET) for Goa due to corruption in NEET

PORVORIM: Opposition MLAs requested the government to pass a resolution in the House for Goa to opt out of NEET and propose a Common Entrance Test (CET) for the state on the lines of Tamil Nadu and other states. Students are under immense pressure they said.

Vijai Sardesai proposed that either free coaching be conducted for all students for NEET or abolish it altogether. It is difficult for Goans to compete in NEET even as they do well at the Goa Board examination, MLAs said.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Goan students who apply to GMC were not affected except those who apply for Central quota in AIIMS and other national institutions.  Students in Goa will get admission (to Goa Medical College) according to the timetable, he disclosed.
